Xerxes was an utukku guard with Baztuk in the Tower of London. He had the face and crest of a desert eagle, and guarded Bartimaeus after his capture at Pinn's Accoutrements. He was more intelligent than Baztuk, being the authority figure and noticing the noises made that were soon followed by Faquarl and Jabor's break-in to get information from Bartimaeus. Nonetheless, he still fell for Bartimaeus' tricking him and Baztuk into unprofessional squabble, and was killed in Faquarl and Jabor's break-in, being eaten by one of them (both were in raven guise).
